GUMNUT BABY COSTUME
LEVEL: EASY
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
FOR THE SKIRT
- Green ribbon (your child's waist measurement with an additional 60cm for tying)
- 5 sheets of dark green felt
- 3m yellow pom pom trim
- Other shades of green ribbon (optional)
FOR THE HEADPIECE
- 1 sheet of dark green felt (or use small scraps left over from making the skirt)
- Yellow yarn
- Hair clip
- Glue gun and glue
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Trace and cut out multiple leaf shapes from green felt.
Step 2 - Cut 2 small holes into the top of each leaf to thread the ribbon through.
Step 3 - Take a piece of ribbon and measure around the the wearer's waist to find the length you need, add an extra 30cm at each end for tying.
Step 4 - Thread each leaf onto the ribbon, moving each one along to make room for the next, and ensuring they are spaced in a balanced way.
Tip - Use a safety pin on the end of your ribbon to make the threading process easier.
Step 5 - To finish, tie lengths of pom pom trim between the leaves, and add additional ribbon if you are using it.
Step 6 - Tie around waist

Step 1 - Cut out small leaf shapes from felt
Step 2 - Make Pom Pom from yellow yarn.
Step 3 - Adhere both to hair clip with hot glue.
