V NECK CARDIGAN

LEVEL: EASY

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Using 3 Ply yarn and size 12 (2 3/4 mm) and size 11 (3 mm) needles
• Using 4 Ply yarn and size 12 (2 3/4 mm) needles & size 10 (3 1/4 mm) needles

Size 25cm (10") for babies 28 weeks +

Finished Measurements (approx)

Chest: 27.5cm, Length: 15cm & Sleeves: 11.25cm

INSTRUCTIONS

BACK

Cast on 42 sts on No.12 needles and work in K1 P1 rib for 8 rows. Change to No. 10 needles and stocking st.

K to row 20, mark ends. K to row 48. Cast off 11 sts at beginning of next 2 rows. Cast off remaining 20 sts.

FRONT

Cast on 20 sts, work as for back to row 20. Mark armhole edge and commence neck shaping.

Dec 1 st at neck edge on next row and every following 3rd row, until 11 sts remain. K to row 48. Cast off. Do one then reverse shapings and do the other.

SLEEVES (Knit two)

Cast on 36 sts on No. 12 needles and work in K1 P1 rib for 8 rows. Change to No.10 needles and stocking st, inc beg & end of next and then every 6th row until 46 sts. K to row 34. Cast off fairly loosely.

BUTTON HOLE BAND

Join shoulder seams, sew sleeves in position. Sew side seams.

Cast on 7 sts, No. 12 needles and work in K1 P1 rib, working a small buttonhole on 3rd and following 10th rows until 3 buttonholes have been worked (buttonhole row:

Rib 3 yfwd K2tog, rib to end).

Continue until band is long enough to be placed around garment.
