FLORAL HEART EMBROIDERY

LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 175mm embroidery hoop
• Plain fabric
• DMC embroidery thread
• Scissors
• Marking pen

INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

Print out the template (you can scale it up or down to fit the size of embroidery hoop you have chosen).

STEP 2

You will need to transfer the pattern on the fabric. One simple way to do this is either using a lightbox or a window as a source of light. Cut out the fabric to the desired size and place it over the pattern.

STEP 3

Using the marking pen, trace over the pattern. If you use an air erasable pen, the pen marks will dissapear after a few days.

STEP 4

Place the fabric inside the hoop and you can begin stitching! To create fine stitches, we seperated the embroidery thread and used two strands.

STEP 5

This pattern consists of three basic stitches: split stitch, lazy daisy and french knots. Split stitch is used for all the green leaves and stems, tulips and triangular flowers. To create the centre of the flowers, you will need to make a french knot. To create the petal of the daisy flowers , you will need to make a lazy daisy stitch.
