STALLION POM POM SCARF
Level: Intermediate
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- '4 Seasons' Stallion 8ply 100g: 2 balls 1st Colour (C1) Red, 2 balls 2nd Colour (C2) Yellow, 1 ball 3rd Colour (C3) Aqua, 1 ball 4th Contrast (C4) White.
- 1 pair 4mm knitting needles, or size required for correct tension.
- A cable needle.
- A medium sized pom pom maker.
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure.

TENSION
26 sts x 30 rows to 10cm over first patt (slightly stretched), using 4mm needles.
SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS
Cable = Slip next 4 sts onto cable needle and leave at back of work, K4, then K4 from cable needle.
INSTRUCTIONS
SCARF
Using 4mm needles and C1, cast on 61 sts.
BEG FIRST PATT
Using C1, 1st row (RS) - K1, * P2, K1, rep from * to end.
2nd row - P1, * K2, P1, rep from * to end.
Last 2 rows form patt.
Work a further 8 rows patt in stripes of 4 rows C1, 2 rows C2 and 2 rows C3.
Last 10 rows form stripe patt. Cont in stripe patt until work measures 60cm from beg, working last row on WS and inc 5 sts evenly across last row ... 66 sts.
BEG SECOND PATTERN
Using C2, 1st row (RS) - K11, * P5, K8, rep from * to last 3 sts, K3.
2nd row - K3, P8, * K5, P8, rep from * to last 3 sts, K3.
3rd row - K3, cable, * P5, cable, rep from * to last 3 sts, K3.
4th row - As 2nd row.
Rep 1st and 2nd rows 3 times.
Last 10 rows form patt.
Cont in patt until work measures 120cm from beg, working last row on WS and dec 5 sts evenly across ... 61 sts.
BEG THIRD PATT
Using C4, 1st row (RS) - K1, * P2, K1, rep from * to end.
2nd row - P1, * K2, P1, rep from * to end.
Last 2 rows form patt.
Rep last 2 rows 4 times in stripes of 6 rows C4 and 2 rows C3.
Last 10 rows form third patt.
Cont in third patt until work measures 180cm from beg, working last row on WS and inc 5 sts evenly across ... 66 sts.
BEG FOURTH PATT
Work as for Second patt, using C1 in place of C2, until work measures 240cm from beg, working last row on WS.
Cast off loosely in patt.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Using 1 strand of each colour all together, make 8 mixed colour pom poms. Attach 4 pom poms securely to each end of Scarf as pictured.
