ENTWINE CAKES RIB SCARF

Entwine Cakes Rib Scarf Project

Level: Easy

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • "4 Seasons" Pure Wool Entwine Cakes 100g: 3 x 1st Colour (C1) Blue Mix, and 2 x 2nd Colour (C2) Pink Mix.
  • 1 pair 7mm knitting needles or size required to give correct tension.
  • A large crochet hook for fringing.
  • Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure.

Size

Width (approx): 18 cm
Length (approx) Excluding Fringing: 170 cm

Tension

19 sts and 17 rows to 10cm over 1 x 1 rib, using 7mm needles and 2 strands of yarn together.

Note - This Scarf has been worked on different needles and at a different tension using 2 strands of yarn together throughout.

INSTRUCTIONS

SCARF

Using 7mm needles and 2 strands of C1 tog, cast on 37 sts in rib.

1st row (RS) - K2, P1, K1, rep from to last st, K1.

2nd row - K1, P1, K1, rep from to end.

Last 2 rows form rib.

Cont in rib until work measures 85cm from beg, ending with a 2nd row.

Beg Stripe Patt -

Using 2 strands of C2 tog, work 6 rows rib.

Using 2 strands of C1 tog, work 6 rows rib.

Last 12 rows form stripe patt.

Cont in stripe patt until scarf measures approx 170cm from beg, ending with a complete C2 stripe on WS.

Cast off loosely in rib.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Wind C1 around a piece of cardboard 15cm long and cut along one edge. Using crochet hook and 3 strands of C1, fringe evenly along cast off edge (C2 edge). Wind C2 around a piece of cardboard 15cm long and cut along one edge. Using crochet hook and 3 strands of C2, fringe evenly along cast on edge (C1 edge). Trim fringing to desired length. Sew in ends towards centre of scarf.
