  • 'Moda Vera' Bamboo Cotton 50g x 7 balls
  • 1 pair each 5mm and 4.50mm knitting needles or sizes required to give correct tension.
  • Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

TENSION

15 sts to 10cm in width over patt, using 4.50mm needles.

SPECIAL ABBREVIATION

K1B = knit into next st 1 row below, slipping both sts off needle together.

INSTRUCTIONS

Using 5mm needles, cast on 45 sts.

Beg fisherman's rib - 1st row (RS) - Knit.

2nd row - K1, * K1B, P1, rep from * to last 2 sts, K1B, K1.

Rep last 2 rows for fisherman's rib until work measures 10cm from beg, ending with a 2nd row.

Change to 4.50mm needles.

Next row - Knit.

Next row - Knit, thus forms a ridge.

** Beg patt - 1st row (RS) - K1, * yfwd, K2tog, rep from * to end.

2nd row - Purl.

3rd row - Purl, thus forms a ridge.

4th row - Purl.

5th row - * K2tog, yfwd, rep from * to last st, K1.

6th row - Purl.

7th row - Purl, thus forms a ridge.

8th row - Purl.

Rep rows 1 to 8 incl once more.

17th row - K1, * yfwd, K1, rep from * to end.

18th row - Purl, dropping yfwd's from previous row.

19th row - Purl, thus forms a ridge.

20th row - P1, * yrn, P1, rep from * to end.

21st row - Knit, dropping yrn's from previous row.

22nd row - Knit, thus forms a ridge.

Rep rows 17 to 22 incl once more.

Last 28 rows form patt. **

Rep from ** to ** until work measures approx 170cm from beg, ending with a 28th patt row.

Change to 5mm needles.

Beg fisherman's rib - Work fisherman's rib (as before) for 10cm, ending with a 2nd row.

Cast off loosely knitways.

FINISHING
