INSTRUCTIONS

BRA CUPS (make 2)

Using 4mm hook, make 8 (9 - 10) ch.

1st row - 1 tr in 5th ch from hook, 1 tr in each ch to last ch, (2 tr, 1 ch, 2 tr) in last ch, rotate to work along opp. side of ch, 1 tr in each ch to end, 1 tr in 4th of 4 ch at beg - 16 (18 - 20) tr and 1 ch. Turn.

2nd row - 3 ch (counts as tr throughout), 1 tr in each st to 1 ch sp, (2 tr, 1 ch, 2 tr) in 1 ch sp, 1 tr in each st to end, 1 tr in 3rd of 3 ch at beg.

3rd - 6th (7th - 8th) rows - Repeat 2nd row - 36 (42 - 48) tr and 1 ch.

7th (8th - 9th) row - 3 ch, 2 tr in same st, 1 ch, miss 2 sts, 3 tr in next st rep from to last 2 sts before 1 ch sp, 1 ch, (3 tr, 1 ch, 2 tr) in 1 ch sp, rep to to end.

8th (9th - 10th) row - 3 ch, 2 tr in same st, 1 ch, miss 2 sts, 3 tr in next st rep from to last st before 1 ch sp, 1 ch, (3 tr, 1 ch, 2 tr) in 1 ch sp, rep to to end. Fasten off.

BAND

Using 4mm hook, make 37 (39 - 41) loose ch, work 35 (39 - 43) sl sts evenly along bottom of one bra cup, 1 ch between cups and 35 (39 - 43) sl sts evenly along the bottom of the other bra cup, finishing with 38 (40 - 42) ch.

1st row - 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in each ch/st to end - 145 (157 - 169) dc.

2nd row - 3 ch, 2 tr in same st, 1 ch, miss 3 sts, 3 tr in next st, repeat from to end.

3rd - 5th (6th - 7th) rows - Repeat 2nd row. Fasten off.

STRING STRAPS (make 3)

Using 4mm hook and two strands of yarn, make ch lengths approx 100cm long. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Sew the bra cups together in the centre to 5cm up from band. Fasten one string strap to the centre of the upper edge of the left back band and pass through the 1 ch sp at the top of the left bra cup. Repeat on the right side: these two string straps are to be tied at the back of the neck.

Use the 3rd string strap to lace up the band at the back, working from the top, zig-zagging from one side to the other down to the bottom, then working up again, crossing over the already threaded string strap to the top. Tie the ends to fasten.
