WONDERWALL WALL HANGING
Level: Easy
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Moda Vera Wonder Wool 100g x 1 ball each: 1st Colour (C1) Cream, 2nd Contrast (C2) Stone, 3rd Contrast (C3) Caramel, 4th Contrast (C4) Olive and 5th Contrast (C5) Black
- 1 pair 15mm knitting needles
- A large crochet hook for fringe
- A length of dowel
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
Measurements
Width (approx at widest point): 30 cm
Length (approx excluding fringe): 32 cm
TENSION
Correct tension is not essential for this project.
INSTRUCTIONS
Using 15mm needles and C1, cast on 3 sts.
1st row (WS) - Knit.
2nd row - K1, (K1, P1, K1) in next st, K1 ... 5 sts. Knit 3 rows garter st.
Using C2, 5th row - K1, inc in next st, K1, inc in next st, K1 ... 7 sts. Knit 3 rows garter st.
Using C3, 9th row - K1, inc in next st, knit to last 2 sts, inc in next st, K1 ... 9 sts. Knit 3 rows garter st.
Using C4, rep last 4 rows once ... 11 sts.
Using C1, rep last 4 rows 3 times ... 17 sts.
Cast off loosely, leaving an end approx 1.2 metres long.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Sew in ends from each colour change and at cast on edge towards centre on WS. Wind colours around a piece of cardboard 18cm long and cut along one edge. Using large crochet hook and 2 strands of yarn, fringe evenly along edges as pictured matching colours. Using long end left at cast off edge, slip st cast off edge to dowel as pictured. Fasten off securely. Trim fringe.
