KIDS BED STORAGE

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1 - Prepare backing by laying back right side down on table lay wadding on top, then lay front right side up on top of wadding. Measure and pin vertical quilting lines from left to right at 25cm, 40cm, 60cm, and 75cm.

Step 2 - Make pockets by sewing 2 strips the same - yellow, orange, pink, purple blue - sew each colour to the next colour along the short sides (20cm). Press seams flat.

Step 3 - Lay first pocket strip right side down on table lay wadding on top, then lay second strip right side up on top of wadding. Measure and pin vertical quilting lines 5cm apart. Sew quilting lines using matching thread.

Step 4 - Using red binding, bind the top edge of the quilted pockets.

Step 5 - Lay the quilted pockets on the backing so that both bottom edges align. Pin the short ends of the pocket to the left-and right-hand sides of the backing.

Step 6 - Align the seams where the colours change on the pockets to the quilted lines on the backing and pin. Sew the pocket to the backing vertically along these lines. At the bottom edge of each coloured pocket make a neat box pleat so that the base of the pockets is flat and aligned with the next pocket. Sew along the base of the pockets.

Step 7 - Using red binding, bind the outside edge of the bed pocket organiser, being careful not to catch sides of yellow and blue pockets.
