Instructions
Step 1 - Start by deciding your book week character: We have chosen Princess as our theme.
Step 2 - Once your character is decided, create your design on the Design Space app - or you may choose to use an existing design and edit.
Step 3 - Many designs are free or you may pay for membership to get access to all designs.
Step 4 - Once you are happy with your design, choose your vinyl: we have used Smart iron ons so we could do without the cutting mat, but please make sure you have a cutting mat if you are not using smart iron ons.
Step 5 - Remember to mirror your designs when using iron-ons.
Step 6 - Lay the vinyl out on cutting mats and place the vinyl on the mat upside down so the shiny side is pressed down. Using a roller press these down on the mat.
Step 7 - Start cutting the layers.
Step 8 - Weed out the design using the Cricut tools: we have used the Cricut essential tool set here.
Step 9 - Now lay out your weeded layers to check if they align and are good to start ironing.
Step 10 - Lay your shirt out flat and make sure there are no creases.
Step 11 - Heat up your ironing press. We set the temperature to 135, and time to 20 seconds.
Step 12 - Press the first layer of iron on transfer down and press.
Step 13 - Wait for a minute and remove the backing tape.
Step 14 - Repeat for all layers.
Your personalized book week outfit is ready!
