How To Keep The Children Entertained During A Birthday Party?
Even though children are quite imaginative when it comes down to entertaining themselves, you still want to make sure your child's birthday party is one to remember. Fortunately, there are many affordable ways you can make a birthday party memorable. If you want to make sure all children stay entertained during the party, be sure to read on.
How Can I Use Music To Keep The Kids Entertained?
Music is one of our favourite ways to keep children entertained at a birthday party. It is also an affordable one, as most people have a way to play music in their home, so there is no need for additional investments.
One activity you could try with some music is the so-called freeze dance. Play music and tell the kids to freeze whenever the music stops. A child is eliminated from the freeze dance competition when they move after the music ends. The child who manages to freeze every time is the winner. You can repeat this game several times.
To prevent a child from feeling disappointed, you can let the losing child control the music. Then, the next child who is eliminated can take over. The previous child can then help keep an eye on the remaining contestants and spot if anyone is moving when the music has stopped. That way, you keep involving all the children in the game and nobody gets bored.
Which Classic Games Are Affordable And Great For Birthday Parties?
Simon Says is a classic when it comes to children's birthday parties. The best thing is that it won't cost anything at all!
Hide and seek is another classic children's party that does not have to cost you anything. Of course, it is advised to set some ground rules with the children before they start playing hide and seek. You can ban certain rooms from the game. You can also lock them to make sure no children get inside anyway. In addition to that, you should also make an agreement that children are not to leave the venue or the garden where the party takes place.
What Are More Affordable Ways To Keep Children Entertained At A Birthday Party?
We already mentioned some ways to entertain the kids and that will not cost you anything. We have some other ideas as well, although some of these may require a minor investment. Still, they are counted among the most affordable ways to keep kids entertained at a birthday party.
The balloon room - Fill a room with some affordable latex balloons. Make sure the entire floor of the room is covered. Then, let the children go crazy! Just make sure to close the door to prevent the balloons from getting spread all over your house.
A personalised scavenger hunt - Another fun way to keep kids entertained is a scavenger hunt. Of course, a scavenger hunt is always better when there is a reward at the end. There should also be a reward for each child. Ideally, you could give each child a favour bag when they complete the hunt.
Park games - Some games are timeless in the great outdoors. For example, if you are having the party at the park, you can take some toys such as frisbees and balls. If you have the budget, you could also get some trikes and bikes.
Kids Table - You can set up a kids table at your venue and fill it with some crayons, paper, playdough and other fun creative things for the kids to occupy themselves with. With a single kids table, children can stay entertained for many hours. However, make sure you do not use anything that children can get incredibly dirty from, for example, paint. Otherwise, the children's parents might not be too happy with you.
Play a children's movie - When the energy runs a little low at the party, you can let the kids have a little rest by putting on a good children's movie. However, it can be a challenge to find something all children have not seen yet. So, it could be a good idea to ask about possible movies at the beginning of the party and make sure you have a good collection available.
