What do I need rod brackets for?

Standard brackets are used to secure your curtain rod and affix it onto the wall. They are placed underneath your rod to securely hold up your window dressing design. If you are purchasing your curtain rod from Spotlight, remember that all of our curtains rods come with the necessary fixtures and fittings that you will require. However, if you need a replacement bracket due to breakage or loss or if you need more due to having a larger window, then you can find ones to match right here. Also, if you are hanging heavier curtains or drapes, then extra brackets can help to provide extra peace of mind.

How should I hang my curtains?

The way that you hang your curtains will depend on the overall look and finish that you are hoping to achieve. If you are looking for curtains that are quick and easy to get up but still super stylish, then eyelets or tab tops could be the perfect choice for you. These will thread directly onto a curtain rod, offering a relaxed and casual style. If you want to keep your curtain hardware out of the way, then curtain tracks may be a better option for you.

Tracks are also a great option if you are looking to create a multi-layered window treatment, with heavier drapes and sheer voiles combined to create a dramatic finish. Eyelet and tab top curtains must be hung from a curtain rod, but pencil pleat can be either a track or a pole. Pinch pleat curtains can be hung from either a track or a rod as well. However, due to the way that they hang, these will then be in full view, so a decorative and attractive curtain rod is usually the preferred option.

Alternatively, curtain wires are a great way to hang sheer curtains, nets and voiles. Whilst these cannot hold a lot of weight and will sag in the middle with heavier curtains, if your window dressing is a lightweight option, this could be an excellent choice. Whichever method you choose, we have everything that you need to hang your curtains and tie your room together.
