Muslin range at Spotlight features the light weight 100% cotton fabric. With a fabric weight of 53 gsm, the Baby Buzz Printed Muslin Fabric is the fabric for soft and comfortable needs for the baby and infants. This fabric can be used for baby wraps and infant outfits and pram blankets. Sold by the metre, this fabric measures 135 cm in width.

Muslin is ultra-lightweight, which means it can be very sheer.
Always ensure you are purchasing the correct fabric weight for your project.
If sheerness is not desired, we recommend lining garments with self-fabric or another light cotton fabric such as muslin, lawn or voile.

Pre-wash, dry and iron prior to sewing, as the fabric can be distorted easily.
Muslin tears easily but is durable.
A starch spray may be beneficial when cutting.
Seam slippage may occur, so interfacing is recommended for stability if being used to make a garment.
Use a 60/8 - 80/12 sharps needle depending on the fabric weight.
An all purpose thread is ideal.
Use sharp scissors or a rotary cutter and mat when cutting.
Use pins when sewing.
