Iron On Interfacing

Iron On Interfacing

If your sewing pattern calls for interfacing, Spotlight can help.

Interfacing is generally used on the wrong side or inside of garments, to stiffen the fabric, add extra weight or strengthen an area where for instance buttonholes will be sewn.

At Spotlight, you can choose from iron-on interfacing (also sometimes called fusible interfacing) and sew-in interfacing in a range of widths, weights and thicknesses to suit your particular sewing project. Ideal for waistbands, lapels, pockets, hats, necklines and more, as well as craft projects including applique and wall-hangings.

Can I purchase iron-on interfacing at Spotlight?

Yes, you can! Spotlight has a large range of different types of iron-on interfacing (sometimes also called fusible interfacing), including narrow rolls of interfacing, for things such as waistbands or collars, as well as fabric style, available by the metre. Iron-on interfacing is available in various grades or weights, to suit different types of fabrics. There is even an iron-on fusible wadding, which will provide a thicker backing than normal iron-on interfacing.

What can I use iron-on interfacing for?

Here are just some of the things you can do with interfacing:

  • Stabilise and support necklines, waistbands, buttonholes, pockets, lapels, plackets, applique, embroidery, beading and wall hangings.
  • Stiffen collars, cuffs, waistbands, shoulder pads, facings, hats and bags.
