FOX PILLOW

Body

Step 1 - Take the 2 x 17cm wide strips of the camel polar fleece and trim off selvedge. Take the two white 17cm squares and using the tail template trace onto the wrong side of one square then flip template over and trace onto wrong side of the other white square.

Step 2 - With one white tail right side up and one long camel strip right side up, position tail on one end and pin in place. Machine sew in place close to the edge of the white fleece. Repeat to sew other tail onto one end of the other long strip.

Step 3 - Pin strips together with right sides facing. Starting at the top sew together down one long side and around the tail shape following stitching from attaching the tail. Sew together along remaining long side with 15cm openings evenly along the side. Note - this will make stuffing easier. Sew together across remaining short edge. Trim corners and excess camel fleece from around tail end to reduce bulk. Turn right side out through one side edge opening.

Step 4 - Starting at the tail stuff body and hand sew side edges together as you work your way along the body.

Head

Step 1 - To make the head trace the face template onto the wrong side of a leftover piece of white polar fleece. With white face piece right side up and one 17cm camel square right side up, position face marking on top and pin in place. Machine sew in place close to the edge of the white fleece.

Step 6 - Pin face square and remaining 17cm square together with right sides facing. Sew together down one side around the end into a pointed fox face shape and back up the other side leaving top edge open.

Step 7 - For the ears, use a leftover piece of the camel polar fleece to cut out 4 x 4cm squares. Onto the wrong side of two squares use a fabric pen to draw two sides or a triangle up from one side. Place each marked square right sides together with an unmarked square. Sew together to make triangles for ears, trim corners and edges and turn right side out. Pin ears to top edge and sew in place. Stuff head and sew top edge closed.

CUSHION

Step 8 - Take the two camel polar fleece 45cm x 40cm rectangles and using the letter A template and trace onto the wrong side of one rectangle then flip template over and trace onto wrong side of another rectangle. Cut out each shape then carefully cut out the centre of the A.

Step 9 - With right side of A facing up place a 15cm square right side up behind each opening and pin. Stitch around the opening close to the edge through both camel fleece and white fleece. Turn to the wrong side and trim away excess white fleece.

Sew ends together and trim off excess strip.

Step 10 - To attach 9cm white strip to one A, start on one long side of the A and sew together around the edge pivoting at the corners until back to the start.

Step 11 - To attach the other A start in from the corner on the straight edge under the center opening. Sew around the edge pivoting at the corners stopping just in from the corner at the other end of the straight edge under the opening.

Step 12 - Stuff cushion and hand sew opening closed.
