CHRISTMAS SPARKLE GIFT BAGS

LEVEL: EASY

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 40cm of Christmas quilting fabric
• 70cm of Christmas ribbon (two 35cm lengths)
• A self-covering button

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1. To start, you will need to cut two large rectangles 35x45cm and from the two bottom corners cut out a 5cm square.

Step 2. To create your button loop cut a long strip approx. 10x3cm, sew along the long edge and turn inside out.

Step 3. To neaten your opening edge, fold your top edge over 1cm and pin a length of ribbon along the top on the pattern side. Repeat on the other rectangle, but also include your button loop underneath your ribbon.

Step 4. Now lay your two sides face together and sew along the bottom and side edges. To sew the corners together you will need to bring the side and top 5cm cut to each other, this will create a squared box effect in the bottom of your bag.

Step 5. Cover your button and hand sew into place on the opposite side of your bag from the button loop.

Step 6. To finish iron into shape, you can use starch or iron on interfacing to stiffen if desired.
