SIZE

Quilt measures: 48 1/2" x 60 1/2" (123cm x 154cm)

All fabrics should be 100% cotton, washed & pressed. 1/4" seam allowance used throughout unless otherwise indicated.

Read all instructions carefully before commencing the quilt.

INSTRUCTIONS

Cutting

All strips are cut across the width of fabric unless otherwise stated.

  • From each of Fabrics 1-35 cut 4 7/8" wide strips, crosscut into 4⅞" squares then cut each square once on the diagonal to make half-square triangles. Refer to chart below for number of strips, squares and triangles. Stack triangles and label colours 1-35. Note - For some fabrics there will be an extra triangle cut but not used.

  • Cut binding fabric into 6 x 21/2" strips.

Quilt

  1. Working on one row at a time, refer to triangle layout for Row A. Pair up half-square triangles for each block (1-12) in the row, i.e. 1-3, 22-23, 4-30, 26-22, 23-19, 17-24, 25-26, 19-16, 22-15, 25-17, 23-16, 31-20 and keeping in order sew together. Press seams open.
  2. Referring to the layout guide, arrange the 12 blocks in the row in correct order and orientation. Use a pin to mark the top. Sew together blocks 1-12.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for Rows B to O. Pressing seams in one direction alternating the direction in each row.
  4. 4. Sew rows together and press seams.
  5. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top and baste together. Quilt as desired.
  6. Join the 6 x 21/2" binding strips together on the bias to make one long strip. Press in half lengthwise and bind mitering corners. Attach a label or sign and date your quilt.
