ART SAVER PAINT POUR CANVAS

Art Saver Paint Pour Canvas Project

LEVEL: EASY

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Art Saver Paint Pour Set (we used 'Fire and Ice')

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1. Prepare work area. Cover table and floor with the disposable table cloth to protect it from paint splashes or spills and make clean up easier.

Step 2. Set out plastic cups for pouring paint. Prop your canvas up at each corner with items of equal height such as soup cans. You can also use push pins, and insert one behind each corner of the canvas to make little raised 'feet'.

Step 3. Put on gloves and pour all the paints into one cup. This is called a "dirty pour". Add in drops of the silicone oil, this will create cells. (See our other paint pour projects on the Spotlight website for more tips and tricks.)

Step 4. Pour the cup onto the canvas. Let it flow naturally, or tip and roll the canvas around to get the paint where you want it.

Step 5. The cells will begin to develop immediately once the paint is on the surface. Enhance the cells by using a hair dryer or heat gun.

Step 6. Let the canvas dry completely. Most canvasses will dry in 2-3 days, but if you pour a thick layer it may take longer.
