Truly Madly Mohair Striped Tassel Scarf Project

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 'Abbey Road' Truly Madly Mohair 100g x 4 balls 1st Colour (C1-navy), 1 x ball 2nd Colour (C2-grey)
  • A pair 8mm knitting needles or size required to give correct tension
  • Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

TENSION

11 sts to 10cm in width over garter st, using 8mm needles.

INSTRUCTIONS

Using 8mm needles and C1, cast on 33 sts.

Using C1, work 6 rows garter st (1st row is RS).

Using C2, work 2 rows garter st.

Rep last 8 rows 3 times more.

Using C1, work 8 rows garter st.

Using C2, work 4 rows garter st.

Rep last 12 rows twice more.

Using C1, work 10 rows garter st.

Using C2, work 4 rows garter st.

Rep last 14 rows twice more.

Using C1, work 16 rows garter st.

Using C2 work 4 rows garter st.

Rep last 20 rows twice more.

Using C1, work 20 rows garter st.

Using C2, work 4 rows garter st.

Rep last 24 rows twice more.

Using C1, work 24 rows garter st.

Using C2, work 2 rows garter st.

Rep last 26 rows 3 times more.

Using C1, cont in garter st until enough of C1 remains to cast off.

Cast off loosely.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Sew in ends neatly towards centre of scarf. Run a gathering stitch across the base of the scarf and draw up, make 2 large tassels in C2 and sew to the gathered bases.
