INSTRUCTIONS

SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS

PS = puff stitch - (yoh, insert hook in ch sp, yoh, draw up a loop) 4 times, yoh, draw through all loops on hook, 1ch.

Beg Cl = beginning cluster - 3ch, (yoh, insert hook into ring, yoh, draw through a loop, yoh, draw through 2 loops on hook) 3 times, yoh, draw through all 4 loops on hook.

Cl = cluster - made of 4tr.

MOTIF A

Using 4mm hook and C1, make 5ch, join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.

1st round - Make 3 ch, make 3 treble cluster in ring. Beg Cl, 3ch, Cl, rep from 4 more times, 3ch, join with a sl st in top of beg Cl � 6cl's, 6 x 3ch sp's. Fasten off C1.

Join C2 in same st, 2nd round - 3ch (counts as 1tr), 1tr in same st, 4tr in 3ch sp, 2tr in top of Cl, rep from 4 more times, 4tr in last 3ch sp, join with a sl st in 3rd ch at beg � 36 sts.

Fasten off C2.

Join C3 in same st, 3rd round - 3ch (counts as 1tr), 2tr in next st, 1tr in each of next 2 sts, rep from 10 more times, 2tr in next st, 1tr in last st, join with a sl st in 3rd ch at beg � 48 sts.

Fasten off C3.

Join C4 in same st, 4th round - 1ch, 1dc in same st, 1dc in next st, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 2 sts, (1dtr, 2ch, 1dtr) in next st (corner), 1tr in each of next 2 sts, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, , 1dc in each of next 3 sts, rep from twice more, then from to once more, 1dc in last st, sl st in first dc at beg � 52 sts.

Fasten off C4.

Join C1 in same st,5th round - 1ch, 1dc in same st, 1dc in each st to 2ch corner sp, (2ch, PS. 2ch) in 2ch corner sp, rep from 3 more times, 1dc in each st to end of round, sl st in first dc at beg � 52 sts, 4 x (2ch, Ps, 2ch) corners.

Fasten off C1.

Join C3 in same st, 6th round - 1ch, 1dc in same st, 1dc in each st to 2ch sp, 2dc in 2ch sp, 1dc in PS, 2dc in 2ch sp, rep from 3 more times, 1dc in each st to end of round, join with a sl st in first dc at beg.

Fasten off.

MOTIF B

Work as for Motif A in the foll colour order -

Foundation ring and 1st round - Use C3 in place of C1.

2nd round - Use C5 in place of C2.

3rd round - Use C2 in place of C3.

4th round - Use C1 in place of C4.

5th round - Use C3 in place of C1.

6th round - Use C4 in place of C3.

MOTIF C

Using 4mm hook and C1, make 5ch, join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.

Fasten off C3.

Join C5 in same st, 4th round - 1ch, 1dc in same st, 1dc in next st, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 2 sts, (1dtr, 2ch, 1dtr) in next st (corner), 1tr in each of next 2 sts, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, , 1dc in each of next 3 sts, rep from twice more, then from to once more, 1dc in last st, sl st in first dc at beg � 52 sts.

Fasten off C5.

Join C4 in same st,5th round - 1ch, 1dc in same st, 1dc in each st to 2ch corner sp, (2ch, PS. 2ch) in 2ch corner sp, rep from 3 more times, 1dc in each st to end of round, sl st in first dc at beg � 52 sts, 4 x (2ch, Ps, 2ch) corners.

Fasten off C4.

Join C1 in same st, 6th round - 1ch, 1dc in same st, 1dc in each st to 2ch sp, 2dc in 2ch sp, 1dc in PS, 2dc in 2ch sp, rep from 3 more times, 1dc in each st to end of round, join with a sl st in first dc at beg.

Fasten off.

Surface Trim - Using 4mm hook, join C2 with a sl st through front loop of any st on 2nd round, 4ch, sl st in front loop of next st, rep from to end, join with a sl st in same place as first sl st.

Fasten off.

FINISHING
