Keepsake Organic Wool Knot Scarf Project

Level: Easy

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • "Keepsake" Organic Wool 50g x 2 balls 1st Colour (C1) Charcoal, 2 balls 2nd Colour (C2) Cream and 1 ball 3rd Colour Mid Grey (C3).
  • 1 pair each 4mm knitting needles or size required to give correct tension
  • Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure.

SIZE

Width (approx laid flat): 6 cm
Circumference (approx knotted): 310 cm

TENSION

23 sts x 30 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4mm needles.

INSTRUCTIONS

SCARF

Using 4mm needles and C1, cast on 15 sts.

1st row (RS) - Knit.

2nd row - K1, purl to last st, K1.

Rep last 2 rows until work measures 60cm from beg, end with a 2nd row.

Note - Carry colour not in use, loosely along side edge of work until required again until stripe section is completed.

Rep 1st and 2nd rows 14 times in stripes of 2 rows C2 and 2 rows C1.

Using C2 only, rep 1st and 2nd row until work measures 60cm from last stripe, ending with a 2nd row.

Rep 1st and 2nd rows 14 times in stripes of 2 rows C3 and rows C2.

Using C3 only, rep 1st and 2nd row until work measures 60cm from last stripe, ending with a 2nd row.

Rep 1st and 2nd rows 14 times in stripes of 2 rows C1 and rows C3.

Using C1 only, rep 1st and 2nd rows until work measures 60cm from last stripe, ending with a 2nd row.

Rep 1st and 2nd rows 14 times in stripes of 2 rows C2 and 2 rows C1.

Using C2 only, rep 1st and 2nd rows until work measures 60cm from last stripe, ending with a 2nd row.

Rep 1st and 2nd rows 14 times in stripes of 2 rows C3 and 2 rows C2.

Cast off.


FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Tie a knot as pictured in each striped section of Scarf. Using mattress st, join cast on and cast off edges tog to form a ring.
