- A set each of 4.50mm and 5.00mm knitting needles or size needed for correct tension
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

To fit head: 56 cm
TENSION
22 sts x 28 rows to 10cm over broken rib patt, using 5.00mm needles.
INSTRUCTIONS
BEANIE
Using a set of 4.50mm needles, cast on 112 sts.
1st round - K1, P1, rep from to end.
Rep last round until work measures 7cm from beg.
Change to 5.00mm needles.
Beg Main Patt
1st round - Purl to end.
2nd round - K1, P1, rep from to end.
Last 2 rounds form patt.
Cont in patt until work measures 18 cm from beg, ending with a 2nd round.

Keeping main patt correct, cont as folls -
1st round - P14, sl 1, P1, psso, rep from to end ... 105 sts.
2nd and foll alt rounds - Knit all knit sts, purl all purl sts.
3rd round - P13, sl 1, P1, psso, rep from to end ... 98 sts.
5th round - P12, sl 1, P1, psso, rep from to end ... 91 sts.
7th round - P11, sl 1, P1, psso, rep from to end ... 84 sts.
9th round - P10, sl 1, P1, psso, rep from to end ... 77 sts.
11th round - P9, sl 1, P1, psso, rep from to end ... 70 sts.
13th round - P8, sl 1, P1, psso, rep from to end ... 63 sts.
