  • Scissors
  • Sewing needle
  • Thread to match, we used bright pink and grey

Instructions

Tip: If you run out of thread tie off and start a new thread

Step 1 - Using the E6000 jewellery and bead glue, glue a small heart rhinestone to the felt leaving enough clearance for the beaded embroidery.

Step 2 - Thread the needle with bright pink thread and tie off the ends with a double knot, you will want this to be long but still workable.

Step 3 -Beginning with the hot pink beads, start stitching 1 seed bead at the base of the heart, thread through a second time then add 2 more seed beads before securing on the felt, you will want to pull your needle through the felt before the last bead, capture the last bead then add 2 more beads. You will continue using this format to add and secure more beads except at the dip of the heart and where it's not required. Continue all the way around the rhinestone.

Step 4 - Stitch another row around the rhinestone in hot pink seed beads, exclude adding a bead to the dip, you will want to stitch into the seed bead from the row below in order to give the embroidery more shape.

Step 5 - Stitch a row of pale pink seed beads, when adding the bead at the dip, you will want to stitch this to the beads in the row below to give the heart more shape.

Step 6 - Stitch a row of red seed beads, when adding the bead at the dip, you will want to stitch this to the beads in the row below to give the heart more shape.

Step 7 - Cut out the beaded embroidery using scissors, you will want this to be close to the beads.

Step 8 -Glue the felt to leather, in this project we used a light grey leather. Allow to dry.

Step 9 - Cut out the beaded embroidery out of leather using scissors.

Step 10 - Edge stitch the felt and leather together with pearl seed beads. Thread the needle with grey thread stitching through both leather and felt, thread through a bead then stitch through the other side, stitch sideways then repeat adding pearl beads all the way round. Tie off when you meet the beginning.

Tip: Add an extra stitch to the bead at the dip for extra security.

Step 11 - Adhere another small heart rhinestone to the earring post, you will want to make sure that enough of the connector is exposed for the jump ring.

Step 12 - Connect a jump ring from the earring post to the pearl bead at the dip.

Step 13 - Repeat the steps to make the second earring.
