MARVEL 8PLY CROCHET BAGS
LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- "4 Seasons" Marvel 8ply 100g x 1 ball each 1st Colour (C1) and 2nd Colour (C2) for each bag
- A 4.50mm and a 4mm crochet hook, or size needed for correct tension
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
TENSION
19 dc x 22 rows to 10cm over double crochet fabric, using 4.50mm hook.

INSTRUCTIONS
PUMPKIN BAG (beg at base - make 2 pieces)
Using 4.50mm hook and C1, make 25 (35) ch.
1st row (RS) - 1ch, 1dc in each ch to end, turn ... 24 (34) dc.
2nd row - 1ch, 1dc in each dc to end, turn.
3rd row - 1ch, 1dc in same st, 2dc in each of next 2dc, 1dc in each of next 18 (28) dc, 2dc in each of last 3dc, turn ... 30 (40) dc.
4th row - 1ch 1dc in each dc to end.
Rep 4th row until work measures 22 (27) cm from beg.
Divide For Handle -
Next row - 1ch, 1dc in each of next 6 (9) dc, 24 (30) ch, miss next 16 (20) dc, 1dc in each dc to end, turn.
Next row - 1ch 1dc in each of next 6 (9) dc, 1dc in each of next 24 (30) ch, 1dc in each dc to end, turn ...38 (50) dc.
Work a further 5 rows dc.
Fasten off.
Make a 2nd piece in same manner.
EYES AND NOSE (make 3 pieces)
Using 4mm hook and C2, make a magic ring.
1st round - 1ch, 8dc in ring, sl st in first dc at beg ... 9dc.
2nd round - 1ch, (1htr, 1tr, 1htr) in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, rep from once, (1htr, 1tr, 1htr) in next dc, 1dc in last dc, sl st in 1ch at beg.
Fasten off.
MOUTH
Using 4mm hook and C2, make 45ch.
1st row - 2dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 4ch miss 2ch, 1dc in each of next 4ch, 3dc in next ch, rep from twice more, 1dc in each of next 4ch, miss 2ch, 1dc in each of next 3ch, 2dc in last ch.
Fasten off.
TOP EDGING
Using mattress st, join side and lower seams to form bag. Using 4mm hook, join C2 with a sl st in any st along top edge.
1st round - 1ch, 1dc in each st to end, sl st in first dc. Fasten off.
INNER HANDLE EDGINGS
Using 4mm hook, join C2 in any st on inside of handle. Complete as for Top Edging. Rep around second handle.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Sew eyes and nose securely in position as pictured. Sew in ends.
GHOST BAG (beg at base - make 2 pieces)
Using 4.50mm hook and C1, make 25 (35) ch.
1st row (RS) - 1ch, 1dc in each ch to end, turn ... 24 (34) dc.
2nd row - 1ch, 1dc in each dc to end, turn.
3rd row - 1ch, 1dc in same st, 2dc in each of next 2dc, 1dc in each of next 18 (28) dc, 2dc in each of last 3dc, turn ... 30 (40) dc.
4th row - 1ch 1dc in each dc to end.
Rep 4th row until work measures 22 (27) cm from beg.

1st round - 1ch, 7dc in ring, sl st in first dc at beg ... 8dc.
2nd round - 1ch, 2dc in next dc, (1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc) 3 times, sl st in first dc at beg ... 12dc.
3rd round - 1ch, 1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, (1dc in each of next 2dc, 2dc in next dc) 3 times, sl st in first dc at beg ... 16dc.
MOUTH
Work as for Mouth of Pumpkin Bag.
