TENSION

Large motif measures 12cm diameter, using a 3.50mm hook for S/M size, or 14cm diameter, using a 4.50mm hook for L/XL size.

FIRST ROW

FIRST MOTIF

Using 3.50 (4.50)mm hook, make 4ch, join with a sl st to form a ring.

1st round - 1ch, 8dc in ring, sl st in dc at beg.

2nd round - 1ch, 2dc in each st to end, sl st in dc at beg ... 16dc.

3rd round - 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, * 2ch, miss next st, 1dc in next st, rep from * to last st, 2ch, miss next st, sl st in dc at beg ... 8 x 2ch sps.

4th round - Sl st in first sp, 3ch, 3tr in same sp, 4tr in each 2ch sp to end, sl st in 3rd ch at beg ... 32tr.

5th round - 5ch, * miss next st, 1tr in next st, 2ch, rep from * to last st, sl st in 3rd ch at beg ... 16 x 2ch sps.

6th round - As 4th round ... 64tr.

7th round - As 5th round ... 32 x 2ch sps. **

Fasten off.

Cont joining motifs as for Second Motif and working from Graph B, until all motifs for that row have been joined, and having 41 sts between each join.

SECOND ROW

FIRST MOTIF

Work as given for First Motif to **.

Next round - 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, 2dc in next 2ch sp, 1dc in next st, miss next 65 sts on first motif for row 1, Join, * 2dc in next 2ch sp, 1dc in next st, rep from * to last 2ch sp, 2dc in 2ch sp, sl st in dc at beg.

SECOND MOTIF

Work as given for First Motif to **.

SMALL MOTIF

Work rounds 1 to 4 incl as given for First Motif.

5th round - 1ch, * 1dc in each of next 4 sts, miss next 6 sts of large motif, sl st in next st, (1dc in each of next 2 sts of small motif, miss next st of large motif, sl st in next st) twice, rep from * 3 times, working into next large motif, sl st in dc at beg.

Working from Graph B for placement, cont until all motifs have been joined.

FINISHING

Sew in all ends.

Using 3.50mm hook, beg at lower edge join yarn to any st with a sl st, working around outside edge work: * 1dc in each of next 2sts, picot, rep from * to end, sl st in dc at beg.

Sleeve Edges - work as given for outside edge.
