How long do helium foil balloons last?

If you want balloons that will stay afloat for more than one day, foil balloons are your best bet, rather than latex balloons. Because gas escapes from the valve, rather than the surface of the balloon itself, foil balloons can stay inflated for over a week! This makes them great for multi-day events or when you want to hold onto the balloon for a little longer. Generally, the bigger the balloon the longer it will last. You do not tend to see foil balloons in small sizes, as the amount of helium that can fit into one is not enough to offset the weight of the foil balloon itself.

How to inflate foil balloons

Foil balloons are simple to inflate thanks to their self-sealing valves. Most foil balloons can be inflated with helium or air, depending on whether or not you need them to float. Smaller foil balloons like the individual Miniloons letters are designed for air inflation only. To inflate your foil balloon, locate the valve opening and place the nozzle of your air pump or helium tank. Fill with gas until the balloon is full - there's no chance of overfilling as the valve will seal off once it's full enough. How to deflate foil balloons

Foil balloons are a great choice for party decorations as they can be used over and over again! Once the celebration is over or your foil balloon is starting to lose volume, remove the remaining air or helium with the aid of a drinking straw. Place the straw into the balloon valve to open it up, then gently press the foil balloon to deflate. Once it's empty you can fold it and store it away, ready to re-inflate for your next event or party.
