Do you have any tips for repairing clothes?

Mending clothes is a great way to save money, breathe life into a tired item, and is even better for the environment. Unless otherwise suggested, use a backstitch for shirts and blouses, tracksuits, stretchy fabrics, or t-shirts. For jeans, use a backstitch or an overcast whereas, a running stitch is recommended for non-stretchy fabrics. It is advised that you iron the garment prior to making the repairs, and this will help to align the fabric. However, you should not wash the item prior to repairs as this could worsen the damage. Choose a thread that is the same colour, or slightly darker, than the original fabric and always work in good lighting.

How do I attach your iron-on patches or hems?

For our iron-on products which are secured using heat, make sure that any steam on your iron is turned off, before setting it a hot temperature. Place your patch or hem into the desired position, ensuring that it is straight and double checking the location before placing a cotton pressing cloth over the top. Items such as a handkerchief or pillowcase should suffice. Then place the iron directly onto the garment, do not move it back and forth, and hold it for around 35 seconds.. Finally, allow your item to cool down before touching it.

Is there anything else that I need to remember?
