Rod Pocket Curtains FAQs

What are rod pocket curtains?

Rod pocket curtains are one of the simplest curtain styles. A rod pocket header, as the name suggests, is designed to be hung using curtain rods. The top of the curtain is created with a sewn in channel, which is then used to thread the curtain onto the curtain rod. Sometimes this channel or pocket is created using curtain heading tape, giving you the additional option of using curtain hooks & rings to complete your installation.

How to hang rod pocket curtains

Hanging your rod pocket curtains is easy. Simply thread the curtain pair onto your curtain rod, and then secure the rod in place onto the rod brackets. For heavier or taller blockout curtains, opt for a rod with a larger diameter such as Spotlight's selection of expandable curtain rods. Rod pocket sheer curtains can be installed using lightweight conduit & tension rods or curtain stretch wire.

How to make rod pocket curtains slide easier

Many sheer curtains are intended to remain closed across your window to provide continuous privacy, so the ease of opening and closing them is usually not a concern. If you want to facilitate easier sliding of your rod pocket curtains along the rod, you can use curtain split rings if your rod pocket curtains are made with curtain heading tape. Thread the split rings at regular intervals through the pockets in the heading tape, then hang the curtain by threading the rings onto the curtain rod.
