Why should I consider using a valance or bed wrap?
Putting a valance or bed wrap on your bed base can finish off a stylish look in your bedroom, as well as hiding any marks on your bed base. Bed bases often get damaged, or scratched by pets, and can also get scuff marks from shoes as well as stains. Blankets or duvets usually do not cover the entire bed base and these marks or stains can be visible unless you use a bedspread or throw to cover the bed. A valance or bed wrap can also protect your bed base or make it look just like new - as well as present a neat and stylish finish in your bedroom.
What is the difference between a valance and a bed wrap?
Valances are designed to cover the base of your bed and reach the ground, covering the base and any bed legs. The standard length of a valance is usually around 33 cm from top of the bed base to the ground. Some valances are ruched, while others have box pleats at the corners of the bed and sometimes in the log sides. This helps to snugly fit the valance around the bed base and under the mattress, while still allowing access to space under the bed or drawers in the base. It will also conveniently hide anything that you decide to store away under your bed.
A fitted bed wrap is usually made from stretchy material will only cover the bed base while leaving the legs visible, and is generally more suitable for thinner bed bases than for those that reach to the ground. Bed wraps at Spotlight are available in black, white and linen, a neutral beige colour that will fit in with most decors.
