Create a soft fluffy rug to complement your home decor perfectly, with one of our latch hooks. This easy tool is ideal for making cushion covers, rugs and throws. This range also includes a whole host of weaving kits to provide you with all that you need to create unique handwoven pieces with ease. With assorted wool, an appropriate weaving loom, and all the tools and accessories that you could need, these fabulous kits promise to provide hours of entertainment. The pre-shaped wool loom could also be redone with any colour of wool that you like so that you can use it over and over again.

How do I use a latch hook?

A latch hook is a hinged hook that is used to form a knotted pile by pulling pieces of wool through a piece of fabric. It is a relaxing hobby, can create stunning items, and the possibilities truly are endless. There is so much that you can do! Measure your canvas grid, leaving around an inch on each side. Some kits may have this border already marked.

Start from the second row from the bottom, sliding your latch hook tool underneath the canvas strand and through to the top. Slide the yarn under the handle of the tool, and then take both ends into your fingers before pulling them to the left of the tool and under the latch. Wrap the yarn around the latch and then tug the tool down. The aim is to get a knot with the two ends sticking out, and you can use your fingers to pull the knots tighter and adjust as you go. There is lots of inspiration available online, and if you are new to latch hooking, we recommend getting a latch hook kit. These include all that you will need to create your own rug as well as simple, easy to follow instructions.

Do you have any weaving tips for beginners?

This range also includes weaving looms and kits, there are a few different types of loom available, and the one that you choose will depend on the finished project that you have in mind. There are so many different weaving techniques as well, and we definitely recommend getting one of our weaving kits if you are new to the looming world. When you have set up your loom and yarn, you will need to go forwards and backwards using the over-under pattern. It is important that you do not pull your yam too tight, or too lose, as this will mess up the overall design. Continue waving back and farther, pushing the woven section up with your fingers to tighten the effect. We definitely recommend choosing one of pour loom kits, particularly if you are new to the craft, as this contains easy to follow instructions as well as all the tools that you could possibly need to weave your way to success.
